Increased regulatory and stakeholder scrutiny around enterprise risk management in the past several years has gained attention of corporate boardroom leaders across the globe - - but how can the essence of this process be captured in a practical way for today’s lean organization? This session will reveal approaches applied in multi-billion dollar global organizations and the respective journey of challenges / solutions. Session participants will gain valuable insight into a simple yet robust process that captures the respect of leadership.
Ms. Pemberton earned her Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation in 2002 from the Insurance Institute of America. She has been an active member of the RIMS since 2000 and served on its Enterprise Risk Development Committee from 2006-2009. She was appointed to the RIMS Board of Directors in 2010 and continues to serve in that role today. She has been board liaison for the Marketing, Communications, and Publications staff, served as a member of the Finance Committee, and currently serves as board liaison for the Conference Programming Committee. She is a frequent speaker at various conferences and educational forums targeted toward enterprise risk management process design / leadership and she has also presented for women’s professional leadership forums.
Carol Fox, ARM, is director of strategic and enterprise risk practice for RIMS, a global not-for-profit association dedicated to advancing risk management for organizational success. Previously, she was senior director of risk management at Convergys Corporation. A graduate of Miami University, she serves on its Center for Business Excellence advisory board. A speaker, author and contributor to numerous published risk management white papers, Fox is the U.S. Technical Advisory Group’s vice chair for the ISO 31000 implementation project. She is a recipient of RIMS’ prestigious Harry and Dorothy Goodell Award and Treasury & Risk named her as one of its 2011 100 Most Influential People in Finance.
