Description: This presentation will review the impact of Rule 2a-7 money market fund regulatory changes on the short-term financial markets over the last 3 months. Over $1 trillion in assets shifted from prime money market funds into government money market funds during 2016 in anticipation of the regulatory changes which took effect on Oct. 14, 2016.  In this session we will discuss expectations for global cash in 2017 with a focus on the outlook for Federal Reserve monetary policy, supply conditions and the approach of the U.S. debt ceiling on yields of government money market funds, and potential impacts on offshore U.S. dollar funds from regulatory changes put forth by the European Council.
